Coffee makes me hostile

But I can still draw coffee cups. These are a few of our wildly eclectic collection.

Yes, I'm going with "eclectic", not "mismatched".

Done on 18 x 24 newsprint with an 8b pencil - part of an ongoing series of exercises from the book "Drawing From Observation" by Brian Curtis.

You be seeing more of these both here and on my web site: www.susanadsett.com

Nice energy in the lines of your sketch. I half expect them to come alive like the kitchenware in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

I'm definitely going to have to get the Curtis book; it sounds great. (Aside: I added the book to my Amazon Wishlist and was horrified to see all of my lists had disappeared. Then finally I discovered it was amazon.ca... oh! Wish lists restored!)

Thanks Jared! The Curtis book rocks - I'm doing the chapter 6 exercises now - and they're getting harder! Some stuff is a review of what I learned at OCA, but since I didn't take either fine art or illustration, a lot of it is new to me. I also really appreciate the logical way he approaches the subject - it makes it easier for me to grasp some of the concepts.
